Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
It's a damp, cool night here but hopefully it didn't dampen the spirits of all of those little trick-or-treaters! I can remember trekking through all sorts of weather-snow rain, fog...we didn't care. We always made sure to have a fantastic time.
Speaking of a fantastic time, my daughter Patricia's long-awaited Halloween party took place this past weekend and I've got lots of great pics to share with you. The creativity was amazing-costumes, food, decorations-absolutely incredible! Everyone had a great time and hopefully it will become an annual get together. My daughter loves to entertain and had a wonderful time planning her first party in her new home. Coming from a family filled with very creative women, it's easy to see that it has certainly rubbed off on her.

Patricia's Steampunk pumpkin had a place of honour!

The crow (to the right of the wine bottles) is a Halloween version of an Advent calendar. Thirty-one keyholes are numbered and an antique key is used to count down the days to Halloween.

A good luck kiss from the lovely hostess.

Steampunkers Priscilla Pettigrew and Cyril Sneer (aka Patricia and hubby Greg).

My prize-winning pumpkin....I used anatomical skeleton prints and decoupaged them to a my pumpkin. I finished it off with a dissected plastic skeleton in chains.

Lots of competition for the pumpkin contest. I love the little black kitty pumpkin in front that my neice Olivia carved...adorable.

The skeleton salad tongs were a huge hit!

A "Wicked Witch" banner that I made last year on loan for the party.

And for the best costumes...the Steampunk witch (my adorable sister Jeannette) and Edwina Scissorhands (my other lovely daughter, Jessica).

The party was a huge success and I'm sure she's already making plans for next year....I can't wait!

Take care.....Marian  xo

Setting Up Shop

I'm back! You might have thought that I had abandoned my blog after barely getting started but I have been busy creating non-stop....eating, sleeping and breathing jewellery. I haven't been this creative in years and loving every second. I am certain that I've found my passion and lose all track of time when I'm in my studio making jewellery. I'm planning to open my online Etsy shop in two weeks so I've come up for air before getting all of the business needs taken care of before I can open the shop.

All of the pieces I've made are repurposed jewellery. I've purchased vintage and antique brooches, necklaces, earrings and dress clip; taken them apart and turned them into new pieces. I am thrilled with the results. They are absolutely gorgeous. Here is a sneak preview of some of the pieces I've made. I hope you like them and would love your feedback.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and have a very Happy Thanksgiving! I'll be back next week to share my progress, until then.....

 Take care.....Marian xo
